Cold Storage Tracker Privacy Policy

Cold Storage Tracker is a privacy-first Bitcoin portfolio tracker for manual records and public blockchain data.

What Cold Storage Tracker stores

Cold Storage Tracker stores your portfolio data on your device. When iCloud is available, portfolio records may sync through your private iCloud account. This includes portfolio groups, manual transactions, settings, and app preferences.

Cold Storage Tracker does not require you to create an account, does not require exchange logins, and does not sync your portfolio to a Cold Storage Tracker account.

Cold Storage Tracker is not a cryptocurrency wallet and cannot create, import, store, or use private keys, seed phrases, or signing credentials. It cannot send, receive, exchange, transfer, or custody Bitcoin or any other virtual currency.

Public blockchain data

If you choose to add public blockchain data, Cold Storage Tracker sends the address or extended public key you enter to third-party blockchain data providers in order to load balances and transaction history. This happens only when you add or refresh that public identifier.

Current public data providers may include:

Market data

BTC price and chart data are requested through a Cold Storage Tracker-operated market data proxy. Those requests do not include your group names, balances, manual transactions, addresses, or extended public keys.

The proxy uses Coinbase when available, with Gemini and Binance.US as backup exchange feeds. Stooq may be used only as a degraded fallback for broader daily history.

Data provided by Gemini when Gemini is the active market data feed. Provider names are used only to identify data sources. Cold Storage Tracker is not endorsed by, sponsored by, or affiliated with Coinbase, Gemini, Binance.US, Stooq, mempool.space, Blockchair, or Apple.

Backups and device security

If you use the JSON backup feature, your exported backup file is created by you and stored wherever you choose to save it. If you choose to include public identifiers, that export may contain sensitive values such as addresses or extended public keys.

Cold Storage Tracker may use Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode-based device authentication to protect access to the app or reveal protected public identifiers. Biometric data itself is handled by iOS and is not collected or stored by Cold Storage Tracker.

Data sales and tracking

Cold Storage Tracker does not sell your portfolio data.

Cold Storage Tracker is designed to minimize unnecessary data sharing and does not require exchange account linking to function.
